On September 18, the BBC Arabic had a little report about people who are escaping Gaza by boat. I think there was a tragic boat accident around that time in which many migrants drowned.
Here's one of the bereaved families:
The dad, or the mom, repeated a conversation they'd had with their son, when he was deciding to take the risk and try to flee Gaza by boat:
Dad: it costs 2000 Gazan pounds?
Son: no, $2000.
Dad: are you sure?
Son: yes, and the boat leaves from Alexandria. That's the closest point to Milan.
